The Census Bureau's 2023 Poverty Report showed that poverty rose to 12.4% in 2022, more than double from 2021.

2.Woodlawn Community Food Pantry

Woodlawn Community Food Pantry-"In 2019, our demographics were mainly seniors; 60 and over made up about 90%"
50% seniors and 50% young people from the ages of 18 and 55 recieve food from the Woodlawn Community Food Pantry.
The Woodlawn Community Food Pantry was an all Black food pantry service, all Black residents in Woodlawn.
With the influx of migrants, they also have a high Latino and migrant population attending their food pantry to receive food that they need.
3.Garfield Park Community Council

Angela has been part of an initiative taking matters into its own hands.The initiative
opened a grocery store pop-up in West Garfield Park set to run through Dec. 21.
The pop-up's goal: To ensure local residents have access to the food items that
they need ahead of the holidays and during the planned closure of the Save-a-Lot store on Pulaski Road.
